  1. The oldest Anime ever recorded

Urashima Taro was recorded back in 1918. It tells the tale of a fisherman named Urashima taro who saved a turtle. Then as thanks for saving it, the turtle brings Urashima Taro to an underwater world.



2. 60% of animation in the world is Anime

We all know Anime is pretty huge but how big is it? Well, according to a 2004 document from the Japan External Trade Organization, anime films and television shows account for 60% of the world's animation-based entertainment.



3. Code Geass and Pizza

If you’ve ever watched the Anime ‘Code Geass’ the you would most likely have noticed the amount of pizza eaten in the series. Well, GUESS WHAT!? Pizza Hut, Japan actually funded the series.  The Pizza Hut logo was removed in the English dub release for legal reasons, but Cheese-kun – the Japanese mascot for Pizza Hut – is still seen in the show.

4. Real Life Anime couple

Remember the Anime ‘Sailor Moon and YU YU Hakusho’ ? Naoko Takeuchi, the author of Sailor Moon, and Yoshihiro Togashi, the author of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter, got married in January 6, 1999. Their wedding ceremony not only included fellow manga artists, but the voice actors from Sailor Moon and Yu Yu Hakusho anime series.



5. Inspiration for ‘Attack on Titan’

If you ever wondered, HOW DID Hajime Isayama ever come up with the idea of ‘Shingeki no Kyojin’ or ‘Attack on Titan’ then here’s your answer. In a TV appearance for Nihon TV's Zip! program, Isayama revealed that one of the scariest anime monsters of all time were based on a drunk customer he met at an internet cafe. Being unable to communicate with the drunk inspired Isayama to create a series about the most familiar, yet, scary animal in the world: humans.
